RHA YARD BASED TRAINING SERVICES
The RHA conduct many yard and site based safety courses to define awareness, knowledge of all associated health and safety procedures, vehicle control, risk assessments, safe systems of work and protocols.
Our 2-day yard shunter training course incorporates vehicle control, vehicle positioning, observation, reverse assistant, coupling and uncoupling of semi-trailers, trailer park brakes, and HSE requirements.
RHA Banksman course teaches all candidates how to advise a driver on site rules and protocol (briefing), what is required by the driver during the process, where to stand, what the driver can see in their mirrors, all required health and safety procedures, site speed limits, loading bay procedures, what a banksman is not there to do, or is legally allowed to do and the law relating to leaving stand trailers unattended without trailer park brakes applied.
Practical safe loading is conducted in accordance with the approved code of practice the safety of loads on vehicles and again is carried out in accordance with all health and safety guidelines and legislative requirements. Drivers are given all theoretical knowledge in the classroom and are then required to demonstrate that knowledge practically under strict supervision and guidance from the instructor on a live load to the standards identified in the approved code of practice.
