Emergency at Work Training Subjects

Employers have to risk assess their workplace which will identify the first aid requirement expected.

Emergency First Aid at Work is recognised as a qualification in First Aid, delivered over 7hrs by an accredited and approved training provider. This is one of the courses which satisfies the HSE's requirements for training in first aid for the workplace.

Understand the role of the first aider including reference to: - the importance of preventing cross infection; - the need for recording incidents and actions; - use of available equipment;

The course is also JAUPT Approved and provides delegates with seven hours of approved DCPC training at the same time.

Upon Completion of the training, successful candidates should be able to:

  • Understand the role of the first aider including reference to: - the importance of preventing cross infection; - the need for recording incidents and actions; - use of available equipment
  • Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency; Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure);
  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR;
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking;
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding;
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock; Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters). 

Course Duration: 7 hours

Commences: 08:00 or 09:00

Concludes:    16:00 or 17:00

Driver First Assist offer a 7-hour course that will give you the skills to be of valuable assistance to the emergency services and other road users, by providing a vital first response should you find yourself at the scene of a road traffic collision.
 
You will learn:

 ·    How to notify the emergency services with accurate information about the location and nature of the incident
·    The principles of dynamic risk assessment to keep you and others safe at the scene
·    How to apply life-saving first aid prior to the arrival of paramedics
·    Handover procedures, helping the emergency services manage the incident and get everyone back on the move again

 The course fee includes:
 
·    7-hour JAUPT and NCFE approved training course delivered by emergency services personnel
·    Upload to DVSA
·    DFA Toolkit for road side first responders, including first aid kit, class 3 long sleeve hi viz jacket and other essential items
