Employers have to risk assess their workplace which will identify the first aid requirement expected. Emergency First Aid at Work is recognised as a qualification in First Aid, delivered over 7hrs by an accredited and approved training provider.
Understand the role of the first aider including reference to: - the importance of preventing cross infection; - the need for recording incidents and actions; - use of available equipment;
The course is also JAUPT Approved and provides delegates with seven hours of approved DCPC training at the same time.
Upon Completion of the training, successful candidates should be able to:
• Understand the role of the first aider including reference to the use of available equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions
• Be able to assess an incident in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
• Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally, and an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
• Be able to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
• Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding
• Be able to manage a casualty that is in shock
• Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury
